Nowadays, People have their phones. Android is a mobile operating system based on a modified version of the Linux Kernel and other open-source software, designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android has historically been developed by a consortium of developers known as the Open Handset Alliance, but its most widely used version is primarily produced by Google. It was unveiled in November 2007, with the first commercial Android device, the HTC Dream, launched in September 2008. Android is the operating system on which the majority of smartphones in the world run. IOS is also the operating system Apple runs on their iPhone. So an Android phone is any smartphone that runs Android while a Linux phone Windows phone or iPhone is any smartphone that runs Linux, Windows, or IOS respectively. A web browser and end-user applications that can be downloaded.
